at used-bespoke Shabby Chic and Vintage Furniture, we seek out vintage style furniture from as far back as the Victorian and Edwardian periods, through to retro and more recent furniture.Antique furniture is furniture that is older than 100 years and described based on unique features, collectability or rarity.Certain types of antique furniture are often used to create a style within the home, creating a vintage theme based on a specific period.
Retro furniture is referred to as culturally outdated or an aged style which would have once been ‘on-trend or’ in fashion’ and has since become the norm once again. It generally implies a vintage of at least fifteen or twenty years. For example ,furniture from the 1980s or 1990s could be retro.Vintage furniture is furniture 30 to 100 years old and refers to furniture that best represents the prevalent style of a period.Being old will not make it vintage, even though most people use the term old and vintage interchangeably.
